by the damn war.

I see people saying stuff about things in presidential elections and shit on lw and they from tha' UK, and well, i see other ppl quoting them saying their opinion don't count cuz they are British and the war has no effect on them.

But that is not true because the British is our allies and they back us up in war and they in Iraq 2. so the fate of the British military lies in the American presidents hands.

discuss.

Foreigners have no influence on American politics.

Allies don't determine your president. Americans pick who they think is best for America. You govern your own country and don't worry about others.

Foreigners have no influence on America politics.

It doesn't matter what the Chinese or British have to say about the election. They have no say in the matter.

Well duh, but they should still be able to express their views without getting flamed. Don't you agree?

Not really.

Some of these people act as if they have a formal education in American history and can make informed decisions as to what it feels like to be American.

America exports its culture and everything thinks that just because they drink Pepsi, that they're somehow entitled to having an opinion that an American wants to hear about their next president.

If you get flamed for giving your opinion on America, and an American doesn't like it, then so be it. Freedom of speech ftw.

It depends on what level of "counting" you're exactly referring to.

In the electing of the president- they obviously don't impose any influence in our internal affairs. Just like I would hope no other countries opinions would ever influence the internal affairs of their country.

In the determination of our foreign policy(the bits of it that affect them)- they better damn count, they're our greatest ally and anyone that underplays the significance of their sacrifice, let alone saying they aren't affected by the war, which is just flatout fucking stupidity, deserves a swift kick in the face.

On an individual level- they're entitled to say whatever the fuck they want, here, or anywhere else.
